Malone and around
Where to eat, where to shop on the way in, who to call if something goes wrong, the town ten miles up the road, the events through the year and the four seasons.
Malone for visitors
Malone, about ten road miles north of the cabins, is where the practical things happen: Price Chopper, Aldi and a Walmart Supercenter, fuel, pharmacies, and UVM Health Alice Hyde Medical Center on Park Street. South of the cabins the next supermarket is in Saranac Lake, about 43 miles away, so shop in Malone on the way in; the kitchens are full and the grills are on the decks.
The village is the Franklin County seat, with the Salmon River running through its middle past Rotary Lake in the recreation park, the House of History on Milwaukee Street, and the county fairgrounds that fill for nine days every August. The three pages below cover where to eat, where to shop and who to call; the Malone guide covers the town itself.

Before and during the stay
Malone is the town you will use: groceries, fuel, the hospital, the restaurants and the fair are all there, about ten road miles north of the cabins.
