The Alpine
The après-ski cabin: a Jøtul gas stove between the picture windows, a big screened room on the deck, and a hot tub open all year, day and night.
About The Alpine
The Alpine is the après-ski cabin. Come in from Titus with cold hands, and the Jøtul gas stove between the two picture windows has the room warm in minutes, the flames showing through glass on three sides. Vintage ski posters hang on the pine walls throughout the cabin. Dinner comes off the gas grill on the deck; end the night in the hot tub, open all year and at every hour, a few steps from the door, so when the last run of the day ends, it's into hot water under the stars.
Titus Mountain ski resort is three miles away, close enough to come back for lunch and go out again for the night skiing. In winter, the C7 snowmobile corridor is a three-minute ride from the cabin parking area, where there is room to leave a trailer; the same trails take ATVs once the snow is gone. Malone, which has a wide variety of grocery stores and restaurants, is about ten miles north, and Malone Golf Club, 36 holes, is a quarter of an hour away. Whiteface and Lake Placid are a day trip, and so is Montreal.
Summer is the screened room. It takes up one end of the large deck, so the evening goes on outside without a bug in sight: dinner off the grill, a game of cards, the woods going dark around you. The smokeless fire pit is set into the tree line with Adirondack chairs around it, a short walk from the deck. In fall the woods around the deck turn a multitude of colors, and the hot tub is the best seat in the house for it. The stove gets its first run of the year on the cool nights. Mornings, in any season, are the picture windows: coffee, the forest, and tranquility.
Inside, the main bedroom features a king size bed; with the bunk room, the cabin sleeps four in three beds, with one bathroom and plenty of storage. The kitchen is full size, with a stove, an oven, a microwave, a fridge and freezer, a dishwasher, a kettle, a toaster, a coffee maker and all the cookware, plateware, silverware and glassware to create an epic dinner. The cabin also features all the amenities of home: a washer and dryer, a Smart TV, wifi with an ethernet port, ceiling fans and an air conditioner for the hot weeks of summer.
The Alpine shares its wooded property with The Aviator, the far cabin down the same gravel drive. Each has its own deck, hot tub, grill and fire pit, and the two are set well apart; book both and a group of eight has the property to themselves, a short walk apart. Dogs are welcome, and stays of 28 nights or more are possible if the mountain or the trails keep you longer. In one guest's words, “Star gazing from the hot tub at night was certainly a highlight of the trip for us.”
Questions about The Alpine
How many people does The Alpine sleep?
Four: the main bedroom and the bunk room hold three beds, with one bathroom. One tip for planning: guests must be 10 years old and up, and the booking guest is 25 years or older. The booking page has the full house rules.
Is the hot tub private, and is it open in winter?
Yes. The hot tub is yours alone, on your own deck, open all year, day and night. Winter is when it is best: snow on the rail, steam in the air, stars overhead, and the stove waiting inside.
What is the stove?
A Jøtul GF 160 DV, a Norwegian cast-iron gas stove with glass on three sides, vented straight outside. Jøtul rates it to heat up to about 1,000 square feet, so it warms a cabin this size in minutes; the cabin's own instructions show you how to run it. More about the stoves.
Is there a neighbor?
The Aviator shares the property, down the same gravel drive. The cabins are set well apart and each has its own deck, hot tub, grill and fire pit. Book both and a group of eight has the whole property: see group stays.
Can we bring a snowmobile, an ATV or a dog?
Yes to all three. The parking area takes a trailer, the C7 corridor is a three-minute ride away, and the same trails take ATVs when the snow is gone. A house-trained dog under 25 pounds is welcome, kept off the furniture and never left alone in the cabin; a pet fee may apply. New York registration is required for snowmobiles and ATVs.
Can we stay a month?
Yes. The Alpine takes stays of 28 nights or more, and it is set up for them: a full kitchen with a dishwasher, a washer and dryer, wifi with an ethernet port, and the mountain and the trails minutes away. See long stays.

PamelaAirbnbThe cabin is absolutely perfect. They have everything that you need and the space is incredibly clean and well cared for. Is that the end of our road and tucked back in so it’s very private. Close to snowmobile and AVT trails. We genuinely love our stay!

DouglasAirbnbVery nice and relaxing time
ChristianAirbnbThe Modern Tiny Home was ours second stay in the Cabins near Titus mountain. Both cabins on this property are great, private, updated, comfortable and close to the mountain if you are skiing. The host was especially accommodating both times we stayed. The private hot tub is key, dog friendliness for our dog Clover is crucial and the bed is comfortable. I do like the covered screened in porch as well. We won’t hesitate to return to this location for a third time if we plan another ski trip next year. Thanks for another awesome stay.
CharleneAirbnbThis was one of the best cabins I’ve ever stayed in. So comfortable, relaxing and close to the mountain will be back for sure !!!
ShannonAirbnbOur stay at this cabin was absolutely wonderful. The cabin itself was beautiful, and the surrounding scenery was breathtaking. We loved the peaceful, quiet atmosphere—it was the perfect place to unwind. The fireplace made the evenings especially cozy, and relaxing in the hot tub under the stars was a highlight of our trip. The host was responsive, friendly, and very helpful throughout our stay.
SydneyAirbnbMy husband and I came to Christopher's place for a weekend to relax and celebrate our anniversary. It was perfect for what we wanted to do! The hot tub was amazing and the house was super cute and clean. It looked exactly like the pictures! I would highly recommend.
