The Cozy Bear
The one-bedroom cabin: a gas fireplace, a bath and a half, a wide deck with its own hot tub, and a stone fire pit ringed with Adirondack chairs.
About The Cozy Bear
The Cozy Bear is one couples keep coming back to. It is a one-bedroom tiny home on a single level, decorated in a rustic and quirky style, with a traditional gas fireplace in the living room and two big picture windows that frame the forest and the mountains. On a winter evening you can sit on the sofa with the fire going and watch the snow come down past the glass; when you do go out, the hot tub is ready to take in the stars, perfectly situated on the deck.
The bedroom has a queen bed. For two more guests, the trundle in the living room opens into two twin beds, so the cabin sleeps four. There is a full bathroom with a shower and a separate half bath, which makes the mornings easier than you would expect in a home this size. The fully stocked kitchen has an electric stove and oven, a fridge and freezer, a microwave, a toaster, a drip coffee maker, and all the cookware, plateware and glassware ready to go. A dining table can accommodate four people. A washer and dryer, wifi with an ethernet port, a 42-inch TV and a stack of board games round it out, and AC and ceiling fans keep it cool in summer.
The deck runs along the front of the cabin, wide enough for the hot tub, the gas grill and the outdoor furniture. On the lawn below, a stone fire pit sits in a ring of Adirondack chairs. From the parking area a trail leads to the observation deck over the beaver meadow. In one guest's words, “It was so blissful to sit in the hot tub on cold nights surrounded by the forest.”
Titus Mountain is three miles up the road, so a ski or snowboard weekend works from here: first chair, back for lunch, out again for the night skiing, then the hot tub. The C7 snowmobile corridor is reachable straight from the property, and the same trails take ATVs when the snow is gone. Malone is about ten miles north for groceries and a meal out; Lake Placid is about an hour, and Montreal about two.
The Cozy Bear shares its property with The Modern Tiny Home, across the shared parking area. Each cabin has its own deck, hot tub, grill and fire pit, and the two are set so each keeps its privacy; the trail and the observation deck are shared when both are booked, and a group of eight can book both. Check-in is self check-in with a keypad, so arrive when you like after four. The Cozy Bear is a pet-free cabin; dogs are welcome at Cabins 1 to 3.
Questions about The Cozy Bear
How many guests, and how are the beds arranged?
Up to four: a queen bed in the bedroom, and a trundle in the living room that opens into two twin beds. It was built with a couple in mind. There is a full bathroom and a separate half bath. One tip for planning: guests must be 10 years old and up, and the booking guest is 25 years or older.
Is anything shared with the cabin next door?
The deck, the hot tub, the grill and the fire pit are yours. When The Modern Tiny Home is also booked, the parking area, the trail and the observation deck over the beaver meadow are shared, and the cabins are well insulated and set so each keeps its privacy and quiet. Book both for a group of eight: see group stays.
Can we bring a dog?
The Cozy Bear is a pet-free cabin. For a trip with a dog, The Modern Tiny Home, The Alpine and The Aviator each welcome one; see pet-friendly stays.
Does it have a fireplace?
Yes, a traditional gas fireplace in the living room with a guard in front of it, and it is the center of a winter evening here: fire on, snow past the picture windows, the hot tub steaming outside. AC and ceiling fans handle summer.
Can we ride to the trails?
Yes. The C7 snowmobile corridor is reachable straight from the property, and the same trails take ATVs the rest of the year; the parking area has room for a trailer. New York registration is required for snowmobiles and ATVs; see our snowmobiling guide.
What is in the kitchen?
An electric stove and oven, a fridge and freezer, a microwave, a toaster, a drip coffee maker, all the cookware, plateware and glassware, and a dining table for four people, plus the gas grill on the deck. One tip: there is no dishwasher, so plan a few minutes at the sink after dinner.
Where do I book?

BryanAirbnbThe place was clean and furnished very well. Great place to just relax. Would definitely recommend to others.
ShyanneAirbnbThis place was literally amazing. Felt right at home, so quiet and peaceful. 15/10 recommend!! David and Luis were amazing hosts !! We had a beautiful few days.
SarahAirbnbI stayed here with my boyfriend and we had an incredible time! Beautiful view, friendly host, only one other possible neighbor as there is a cabin next to ours, beautiful fireplace, hot tub with clear instructions and a beautiful interior. We had the best time! It’s only about 15 minutes or so from the town of Malone where there are some nice diners and restaurants to enjoy while you’re here! Again - we had a blast! Can’t wait to come again!
RuthanneAirbnbMy husband and I booked a weekend here for a peaceful weekend getaway. It was exactly what we needed. The cabin is well taken care of and so clean. The host was very responsive. We will definitely be back!
KadeAirbnbDavid’s cabin was a great place to get away and relax for the weekend. The place was spotless and had everything (including beautiful views) we could possibly need for a comfortable stay. We would absolutely love to stay here again!
DawnAirbnbOur stay was very pleasant. The area is very beautiful, all the amenities in the listing were available and in good working order. What a surprise to have two bathrooms! Beds were very comfortable! Very, very clean bathrooms, kitchen, and hot tub! Everything was easy to use and property manager was very responsive sometimes within a few minutes with any questions. Despite the remote location, the GPS took us right to the location. No complaints! Not too far away from town in case we needed anything.
AndrewAirbnbMy wife and I absolutely enjoyed our stay as we celebrated our second wedding anniversary. Our stay was very peaceful and relaxing, the hot tub was fantastic!
FrancesAirbnbI would highly recommend the "Cozy Bear Cabin". This was exactly as advertised with well appointed amenities. Very intuitive. Modern, clean, beautiful views, lovely walk to "personal" nature preserve, with well maintained observation deck. Location is perfect for either a quiet, grounding recharge with nature or for an adventurous tour of the adirondack park activities. Highly recommend.
StephanieAirbnbI've stayed at David's other listings and have always enjoyed them. Always clean and located in a beautiful setting. Good communication and easy check in. Hope to stay again soon!
LiyahAirbnbA great way to spend the weekend away, great view, private, and quick responses. definitely will stay again.
TaylorAirbnbWe love coming to the Adirondack’s. Everything here was great! Loved the place and the woods. Hot tub and fire pit are always a plus! Would stay again.
BriannaAirbnbMy boyfriend and I had a lovely time at David’s place! Tastefully decorated and everything we needed was there to use. Town was only a short drive away. If you’re looking for something peaceful and relaxing, this is the place for you.
