About the blog

What the blog is for

The guides answer the practical questions; the blog posts are the longer reads. Some are about the cabins themselves: how two cabins share one property and still keep their privacy, the Jøtul gas stoves in The Modern Pine and The Aviator, the après-ski and aviation themes, and the history of the Adirondack chair by the fire pit. Others are about the place: a ski day at Titus that ends in the hot tub, the snowmobile season, the night sky from the deck, the Farmer Boy farm, a week in the North Country, and the drive from Montreal while the Trout River crossing is closed.

Every post lists its sources at the end, and posts about things that change, like the border crossings, carry the date they were last updated. For the practical side, start with the guides or the FAQ.
